A wandering eye is just one of the reasons he's now out
Thirty years is a long time for anyone to be married. In those three decades, so much changes – identity, habits, income. So for actress Rhea Pearlman to file for a separation from Danny DeVito after that much matrimony, you know he really messed up. Now, the reports are that the diminutive co-star of such shows as Taxi and the current Always Sunny in Philadelphia had an eye that wandered as much as his career has lasted.
Those same reports have pegged the marriage between Pearlman and DeVito rocky for the past 10 years thanks to his reportedly philandering, drunken and strange ways. Situations like this didn't endear him to his future ex-wife, especially now with specific allegations that he cheated on her with an extra on Hoffa, the film he worked on with Jack Nicholson. According to a separate source, the funnyman told the extra that he "would make her a star."
Of course that never came to be, and the word around Hollywood is that DeVito has always used his position in town to get with young, aspiring actresses. Well, now that he has the time, DeVito will be moving to New York, where he started his career on Taxi. The split between he and Pearlman, however, might get a little messy. While their three children are all grown up, they do have a lot of joint property, including their stakes in Jersey Films, the production company they began in the nineties. The company has made such films as Pulp Fiction, Garden State and Erin Brockovich, so there is a financial stream there that will be interesting to see how it gets divided when it's time to cut the knot permanently.
