Suri Cruise Tries to Cope

Posted By Demetria Graves || 1-Oct-2012

Times are hard for the smallest victim of the Cruise-Holmes divorce.

When you're one of the most famous children in the world, any slight change could ruin your world—or whatever piece of it you know. Suri Cruise didn't sign up for her fame, and she certainly didn't sign up for the media circus that surrounded the divorce of her parents—Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

Of course, as in anything related to celebrity divorces, the "friends" are coming out of the woodwork to share their views on the situation. According to one unnamed source in US Weekly, Suri's been on a rampage since the divorce proceedings began, acting out because she knows very little will be done to prevent it. She has two very "sorry" parents trying to coddle her to thank for that.

"[The source] said the divorce has been hard on Suri and she's acting out.," according to US Weekly. "Katie says no to some things, but gives a little leeway. She knows Tom is going to spoil her."

Holmes has at least been trying to work through the issues instead of just letting them continue. Suri lives with her, so besides the flashy helicopter rides to the Hamptons she takes with her dad, Katie has been the one to shape and mold her every day. She feels that she has to try to make her as normal as possible, even if she's in the eye of this media storm. Holmes has even had the child forego the fancy outfits at her new Manhattan school, Avenues, for a uniform under its strict dress code. It appears everything is in a state of trial and error, however.

"I think, 'Oh, I'm a great mom' and then it doesn't pan out the way I think it's going to . . . But the intention's there."
