The superstar couple begin to air their dirty laundry
While we were hopeful that the divorce between Project Runway star and model Heidi Klum and singer Seal was going as amicably as it was silent, our bubble was burst this week. That's because the "Kiss From A Rose" crooner decided that it was time to mount an offensive against Klum's requests from a court judge.
In the divorce papers, which were filed in January, the mother of four – Leni, 8; Henry, 6; Johan, 5; and Lou, 2 – asked for sole custody of the children, as well as the halt to any division of property. According to Klum and her lawyer, there aren't any joint assets to be divvied up. However, that's not how Seal sees it. He is countering with a request for both parents to be given equal time of custody, as well as a review of all assets in hopes of getting some of Klum's estimated $70 million estate. He is reportedly worth $17 million.
As that court battle is heating up, another fight may be coming to a head. Camera maker Leicia has released an ad campaign using the singer's likeness, as well as images of their four kids. The model is apparently aghast that he would do this, especially at a time when the divorce proceedings are going on and asked the company, via lawyer, to take down the campaign, which it finally did some days later.
Add in the back-and-forth about who either one of them is dating (some reports are that Seal has been seeing a few women and Klum is dating her Runway producer Thomas Hayo), and we have the beginnings of a very messy split for the very Hollywood couple. Stay tuned.
