Hubby Fails To Kill Wife, Now Doesn't Want To Leave His "Loving" Victim

Posted By Demetria Graves || 24-Sep-2012

Frank Howard spent $100,000 trying to kill his wife to leave for his mistress

We thought we've heard it all in our office, but that was until we heard about this divorce case going down in Texas. Nancy Howard was a loving wife to Frank, and the mother of his three children. She thought he loved her back, but that was until she caught a bullet in her eyes thanks to a hitman hired by Frank to kill her. Why? So he could run off to California to be with his mistress. While you'd think that was the craziest part, it's not even close.

Frank, who is now free thanks to paying a million dollar bail claim, claims that he doesn't want to divorce Nancy, and never did. And even though he's being brought up on attempted murder charges, he believes that she doesn't want to go anywhere either. Yeah, right.

"He has three beautiful children, a long marriage with a lovely wife who does not want to divorce him," his attorney, Arch McColl, told ABC News. "She's indicated that in writing."

While no one has produced said writings, Nancy – now awake from a coma she went under after being shot in the head on Sept. 18 – has actually filed for divorce in Texas. It turns out that the shooter who put one in her eye wasn't the first that Frank sent to murder her. In fact, records show that he spent upwards of $100,000 to try to kill his wife.

Where did he get all this money? According to an unnamed defense contractor Frank used to work for, he embezzled millions of dollars, a claim the accused murderer denies, along with wanting to kill his wife. One thing he doesn't deny is that he was having an affair with his mistress in California. The three-year fling was so serious that he was paying for her daughter's college tuition – most likely with the embezzled funds.

While he is free, he was "only" charged with solicitation for murder. It will be interesting to see how this other stuff gets piled on in the end. We'll keep you posted if anything else moves on this case!
