The goal for contestants of NBC's The Biggest Loser is to lose a majority of the weight that you've accumulated over the years. But for Sam Poueu and Stephanie Anderson, who met on the set of the ninth season of the show, their attraction led to an opposite reaction—they decided to pick up instead of simply losing and get married in May 2012. Unfortunately, that didn't last very long.
Reps for Anderson have said that the couple is calling it quits on their marriage of little more than a year. Unfortunately, there's an added twist—she is now seven months pregnant with their child, a baby boy due in July.
"It is with great sadness that my marriage to Sam Poueu is ending," Anderson said through her rep. "Thank you in advance for respecting our privacy during this difficult time." The couple are currently separated and are hoping for a speedy divorce, although at this time no paperwork had been filed.
Besides the child, the couple made headlines when Poueu suffered serious injuries after a fall from the roof of a four story building in 2011 and spent nine months in recovery. It was then he told Anderson, who had been nursing him back to health after the fall, that he wanted to "grow old with" her.
