It's been more than a decade since Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson trotted out on one of MTV's first reality shows, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, and into the public consciousness. Between their supposed All-American romance and her inability to understand the concept of tuna being the chicken of the sea, their marriage became front page fodder for the tabloids until their divorce in 2006.
Now, Lachey is a TV personality married to another, Vanessa Minnillo, and Simpson has been up and down, concurrently battling bouts of weight struggles in the tabloids and becoming a one-woman media empire. So when Lachey went on Bravo's highly rated Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked Nick and his brother Drew what the best thing was about not being married to Simpson anymore. That's when things got dicey, even before his brother answered "Everything." That's because Nick decided to pull out the big guns.
"The best thing about not having Joe Simpson anymore as a father-in-law is I don't have to play grab a** under the table on Easter Sunday." Cohen looked shocked and admitted he was blushing, as crew off camera screamed. "Our publicist is freaking out right now," Drew Lachey quipped.
"It may not be [funny] tomorrow, but it is tonight," Lachey said.
The former boy-bander also said that he hadn't spoken to Jessica Simpson in almost six years, and it doesn't seem like they're going to any time soon. Maybe there's a good reason for that.
