For an 83 year old man, Clint Eastwood's legal separation filing from his wife of 17 years Dina is a pretty steamy affair! The couple filed papers in Monterey County Superior Court. The former newscaster Dina, 48, seeks spousal support from the actor and director, as well as physical custody of their daughter Morgan, 16—although the former couple would share legal custody.
A legal separation is different from a full-blown divorce because it does not put an end to the marriage, it enables you to live separately but remain married. During the time you are living apart, you have a court order that outlines the rights and responsibilities of each spouse. In this case, it would be the support he would send her and the care of their daughter. A separation agreement can protect your interests until the decision is made to file for divorce. The separation agreement also sets a precedence for the divorce that may follow—and in this case, it could be sooner rather than later.
That's because the soon-to-be separated couple have already found other halves—who used to be married to each other! Clint with Erica Tomlinson-Fisher and Dina with her friend Scott Fisher, who just happens to be Erica's ex-husband (via a finalized divorce).
"After Scott and Erica divorced, Erica was sure Scott was romancing Dina," a source told Us Magazine. "Erica called Clint's office last February to discuss her suspicions—then he fell for her!"
