We’ve heard of a broken heart being a point of contention in a divorce, but a donated kidney? We thought we had heard it all until reading the story of Samantha Lamb, a 41-year-old UK mother of one, who underwent the kidney transplant operation for her husband, Andy, back in October 2009. That’s a true sign of devotion, right?
Well, apparently, it didn’t go both ways. That’s because recently, Andy decided that he had had enough of the woman who underwent surgery to give him a second chance on life and wanted to leave her. Well, that obviously didn’t sit well with Samantha.
"I can't believe he now has a second chance to live to see his grandchildren grow up," Lamb told the paper. "I would definitely go through the operation again –- but I wouldn’t give the kidney to him. I hate him. If I could, I'd take it back and give it to someone else."
Andy, who disputes Samantha’s claims that he slept with her friend leading up to the divorce, does feel appreciative to her, but said that it was just time for them to part ways.
“I did walk out on Samantha after she’d donated her kidney, but I wasn’t unfaithful. I never wanted her to donate her kidney because it was a big risk. But she insisted, and I’ll always owe her my life.
“Despite what Samantha believes, I’ve never been with her friend. I just helped train her dog.”
