The Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade is in a little bit of a pickle. The NBA superstar is in a quandary because a month ago, a woman gave birth to his son, Wade’s third. The problem is that woman isn’t his now-fiancée, actress Gabrielle Union.
Aja Metoyer is that woman. Wade claims that he and Metoyer, who also had two children with actor Damon Wayans, Jr., consummated their relationship at a time when he and Union were “on a break.” Although her Instagram account tells a different story with photos dated during that timeframe, eventually Wade and Union got engaged. While we haven’t heard from the actress, we’re sure she’s not thrilled that there’s another woman involved.
This news, however, was greeted by him as a blessing. He believes that nothing between him and Union should change.
"I'm in the public eye, so obviously that's a part of it," Wade said of the private matter becoming public. "It comes with the territory."
Wade said what matters to him "is always focus on what's most important to me and my family, and that's being a great father. I've always tried to show my importance in my kids' lives and it doesn't change now. So, I, my lady and my family have continued to move forward, and I think that's evident with the ring and the proposal that I gave her, with our lives."
That’s the attitude most are taking, as reports are that no one is talking about the messy situation in the Heat locker room, a place where the mood is generally rife with ribbing.
According to TMZ, “there's an unspoken pact between the players to leave the topic out of locker room convos – ‘It's quiet as a mouse when it comes to the D-Wade situation.’ [The] players have way too much respect for Wade "to make fun of that at all."
