In our last newsletter, we told you about 'Real Housewife of Atlanta' star Phaedra Parks' upcoming divorce to Apollo Nida. According to reports, Nida's current eight-year prison sentence following his guilty plea to bank fraud back in May was the last straw for Parks. However, just because she divorced him doesn't mean she'd throw him under the bus by testifying against him in court. But with a new lawsuit taking a turn she didn't expect, it seems that her loyalty will have to be set aside or risk going to jail.
Parks is currently suing author Angela Stanton for defamation. The suit stems from a book Stanton self-published a book — Lies Of A Real Housewife — that alleged that Phaedra was the ringleader in the original car racket scheme that got Nida and Stanton sent to federal prison.
When initially deposed, she answered all questions except those related to Nida's case. But now, a judge has ordered Parks to sit in a second deposition to answer those questions. According to Stanton's lawyers, they need those answers to mount a proper defense against Parks, and the judge agreed.
More to come.
