On June 30, actors Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced — a day before their tenth wedding anniversary — that the Hollywood power couple would be calling it quits and divorcing. As they say in the industry however, the show must go on, and both Affleck and Garner have been seen out in public supporting their newest projects.
During his Comic-Con appearance this past weekend in support of next year's highly anticipated Batman vs. Superman, Affleck kept a lighthearted tone and joked with the rest of the actors in the panel. The audience was extra enthusiastic with their cheering, especially when the film's trailer was given an extra-long standing ovation.
According to US Hello, "The punch line to [Affleck's] anecdote got a chuckle, before the 42-year-old star went on to tackle why he'd been cast. He said he questioned director Zack Snyder about his choice considering the big names that have taken on the role before. Laughing Ben told the audience Zack said that he would be 'perfect' because the character was 'at the end of his rope, he's a burn out.'"
Garner is currently in Atlanta, Ga. shooting her new film, Miracle from Heaven. She has been commuting from her Calif. home with the couple's children: Violet, nine, Seraphina, six, and Samuel, three.
Some more notes about the divorce:
• The couple, though divorcing, are currently living in their same estate so they can co-parent their kids.
• The family took a vacation in the Bahamas at their property in the Baker's Bay resort so they could all be together when their divorce was announced. When it was, the couple said they will "go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children."
• During the Comic-Con panel, Affleck was still wearing his wedding ring,
